We had such a great experience with Enfield Level 2 Electrical. Our quote was super reasonable and Karl’s work installing our down lights and fans was awesome and had a great final result. Everyone we worked with was really friendly and it really felt like an honest and fair company. Karl was also super lovely with our toddler and dog too! Thanks again!
Daniel led an excellent team to deliver an electrical upgrade to our apartment. Karl and Remy were professional, punctual and customer and outcome focused in performing works that were at times quite challenging. Enfield Level 2 Electrical will be my ‘go to’ business for future electrical needs.
Enfield Level 2 Electrical service was excellent from the initial call to book the job, through to advice as to when the electrician was due to arrive and the actual completion of the job. Daniel also gave us advice on other electrical issues we had at no extra charge. Highly recommended
The guys were really accommodating, did a professional job and were very polite. They took the time to go over everything that they had done and answer any questions.
I found it quite challenging to get an electrician to answer my calls or respond to text messages. How refreshing to find Enfield Level 2 Electrical! Daniel was on time, extremely professional and so capable! I will only use these guys from now on. So impressed!
I originally had Daniel & team out to replace wired smoke alarm, install extra general power outlets & upgrade ceramic fuses. But ended up with the team doing all these plus upgrading the switchboard , replace ceiling fans to energy efficient ones & replacing cotton electrical cabling too. Across the 3 visits, the team were very friendly, professional & work seamlessly with the tasks. Overall, I’m extremely happy with the results & would highly recommend Enfield Level 2 Electrical for your electrical needs. Thanks Daniel & team for a 5-star service!
Our Service Side 80A fuse which protects the Power Meter blew up in a spectacular manner (see photo) at 9pm on a Friday night, causing total blackout of our Home. We rang Enfield Level 2 Electrical 24 Hours emergency number. We received immediate friendly support and within 30 minutes Daniel, a Level 2 certified Electrician, was at our Home replacing the 80A Service side Fuse, installing a Lightning Protector and ensuring all wiring was perfect! He was a true professional, providing safety advice, a 5 year Warranty and great value. I strongly recommend Enfield Level 2 Electrical!
We lost our power overnight due to minor flooding, Nathan arrived promptly and gave us a detailed quote. Unfortunately our switchboard was non compliant, we had some safety issues, but a full day later we were back up and running. Daniel and Braydon worked really hard and efficiently all day, communicating what was happening and as more rain was expected, they even tarped our eave that was leaking. They left the premises neat and clean, even wiping down the walls. I highly recommend them.
Daniel, Chris, Braydon and the team have been fantastic to work with, great quality and very professional service. Ill be using them again on all future electrical work
It’s amazing how Daniel and Chris came to solve a complex problem and restored the power that my previous electrician was unable to figure it out. They provided prompt and outstanding service! Highly recommended it!
Enfield Level 2 Electrical were excellent in the work they did, which included everything from replacing an out of date switchboard throught to installing lighting / exhaust fans and upgrading power points. Their initial quote was comprehensive and well explained, and the team arrived on time when they said they would. Nothing was too much trouble. We will use them again for our future electircal needs.
Daniel has done an absolute stellar job changing our switchboard and reenergising our shop after the explosive fire next door and really put in the hard yakka over two full days. He was prompt to reply and professional and very much on-time. I highly recommend Daniel and his team, and will be using them in future.
Big thanks to Braeden for fixing the electrical issue in our apartment. I was incredibly impressed with Brayden's professionalism, passion for his work and his attention to detail. He also explained the issue to me at every point and made sure I understood what was needed and how to address any issues in future. We're here to help you understand your options and determine the best solution for your property's electrical infrastructure.
A private power pole is an electricity pole located on your property that supports the overhead connection between the street power lines and your building. Unlike public poles owned by the network provider, private power poles are the property owner's responsibility to maintain, repair, and replace when necessary. These poles are common in the Inner West for properties set back from the street or where underground connections aren't feasible. Property owners must ensure their private poles remain structurally sound and compliant with Australian Standards and network requirements, as deteriorated or damaged poles can pose serious safety risks and may result in power disconnection until rectified by an authorised Level 2 electrician.
Several indicators suggest your private power pole requires replacement. Visible signs include leaning or tilting beyond vertical alignment, cracks or splits in timber poles, significant rust or corrosion on steel poles, and rotting or deterioration at ground level where moisture accumulates. You might also notice damaged crossarms, cracked insulators, or loose hardware connections. If your pole is more than two decades old, it's worth having it professionally assessed, as timber poles typically have a lifespan that varies depending on treatment and environmental conditions. Additionally, if you've received a defect notice from Ausgrid following an inspection, or if you're planning significant renovations or developments, it's advisable to have your pole evaluated by a certified Level 2 electrician who can determine whether repairs or full replacement is necessary.
Both galvanised steel and treated hardwood timber poles are approved options when installed by certified Level 2 electricians according to Ausgrid standards. Steel poles offer exceptional longevity, resist termites and rot, require minimal ongoing maintenance, and provide consistent structural integrity throughout their service life. They're particularly suitable for coastal or high-moisture areas where timber deterioration accelerates. Timber poles, usually treated hardwood, have a more traditional appearance that many property owners prefer, especially in heritage areas. They also have non-conductive properties and generally lower initial material costs. The best choice depends on your property's specific conditions, aesthetic preferences, budget considerations, and local environmental factors. Our Level 2 electricians can assess your situation and recommend the most appropriate option based on factors like soil conditions, exposure to weather, nearby vegetation, and the electrical load your pole needs to support.
Private power pole work must be performed by authorised Level 2 electricians because these installations connect directly to the Ausgrid network infrastructure, which is regulated under strict safety and compliance requirements. Level 2 electricians hold special accreditation from the network provider that standard electricians don't possess, allowing them to legally work on assets that form part of the electricity distribution system. This specialised certification requires additional training, qualifications, and ongoing compliance with network standards. Level 2 electricians are authorised to disconnect and reconnect electricity supply at the network connection point, install service lines from the street to your property, and certify that all work meets the exacting standards required for safe integration with the broader electricity network. Attempting to perform this work without proper authorisation is illegal, extremely dangerous, and will result in your installation being rejected by the network provider, potentially leaving your property without approved power connection.
The private power pole installation process begins with a comprehensive site assessment where our Level 2 electricians evaluate your property's layout, determine the optimal pole location considering clearances and access, and design a solution that meets your needs and network requirements. We then liaise with Ausgrid to obtain necessary approvals and schedule any required network isolation. The physical installation involves excavating a foundation to the appropriate depth based on pole height and soil conditions, setting the pole securely with proper alignment and embedding depth, and allowing concrete footings to cure adequately. We then attach all required hardware including crossarms, insulators, stays if needed, and connection points for aerial cables. A comprehensive earthing system is installed and tested to ensure safe fault clearance. Finally, we connect the overhead cables from your building to the pole, conduct thorough safety testing and verification, and provide all compliance documentation including certificates and approvals. Throughout the process, we coordinate with Ausgrid to ensure seamless integration with the network and arrange any required inspections before energisation.
The timeframe for private power pole replacement varies depending on several factors including site accessibility, weather conditions, network coordination requirements, and whether underground services need locating. The actual physical installation work typically takes one to two working days for straightforward residential installations. However, the complete process from initial assessment to final energisation often spans several weeks when accounting for necessary network approvals, scheduling isolation periods with Ausgrid, ordering materials, and arranging required inspections. Emergency replacements for poles presenting immediate safety hazards can sometimes be expedited through urgent network coordination. Properties with complex access issues, multiple dwellings served by the pole, or locations requiring traffic management may extend the timeline. Our team works efficiently to minimise disruption to your power supply, often arranging temporary connections where feasible during the replacement process. We'll provide a realistic timeframe during your initial consultation based on your specific circumstances and keep you informed throughout the project as we coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure your new pole is installed safely and compliantly.
